In new court documents, Fulton County DA Fani Willis has revealed the desired date of prosecutors for Trump and his co-conspirators to stand trial in Georgia on charges of attempting to overthrow the state’s lawful election process.
In the same court document, the arraignment request was made for the week of 5 September. The formal date requested for the trial is the day before Super Tuesday next March coinciding with several Republican primaries. It is entirely possible that this won’t happen at that time unless somehow Willis ‘s office manages to secure every endpoint of the case and the jury before this time.
