Social media challenges are certainly nothing new, however, cooking chicken in nyquil is probably something we never thought we’d be typing here so please listen up folks. The Food and Drug Administration (and quite frankly this applies to anyone anywhere in the world that would get a crazy idea to do this) you should not be partaking in the challenge that requires people to cook chicken in such a substance. Nyquil contains various substances that if consumed in other ways than intended can be tragically lethal; result in serious consequences, or worse.
NBC reports. “The challenge sounds silly and unappetizing—and it is. But it could also be very unsafe,” the FDA said. “Boiling a medication can make it much more concentrated and change its properties in other ways.”
“Even if you don’t eat the chicken, inhaling the medication’s vapors while cooking could cause high levels of the drugs to enter your body,” the FDA said. “It could also hurt your lungs.”Â
