Amid sanctions; hostility from the U.K, and its war in Ukraine, Russia and its President Vladamir Putin can probably guess by now that they’re not invited to what is likely to be one of the most prolific funerals in recent memory. On Monday, Queen Elizabeth II is set to be laid to rest in a grand funeral before being placed near her husband Prince Phillip in the royal vault.
HuffPost reports that gov’t officials also aren’t inviting folks from countries like Belarus and other Putin allies as a show of force against those helping Putin along in his illegal war.
“For many decades Elizabeth II rightfully enjoyed her subjects’ love and respect as well as authority on the world stage,” Putin said in a statement after the queen’s death last week.
