Colombian pop singer Shakira is facing some pretty serious trouble after reportedly rejecting prosecutors offers for a deal in the alleged tax evasion case against her. According to reports in Spain, Spanish authorities maintain that Shakira failed to pay about $15M USD in taxes owed to the country between 2012-2014. The problem with their claims is that during this time Shakira’s full time residence was actually listed in the Bahamas according to publicly available information at the time.
During this same period she was only partially in Spain as the story goes due to her partner at the time also the father of her children. It remains unclear how this case could go.
