All three folks down in Florida are understood to be facing federal hate crime charges as a result of the attack. According to reports, they were also charges with things like attempted murder; burglary, and kidnapping.
The parents Inna Makarenko, 44, and Yevhen Makarenko, 43, are facing hate crime charges over the Aug. 6, 2021, attack, as is son Oleh Makarenko, 21, CBS reports. There isn’t any other information available about the victim due to police not having released his identity. Police reports show that the family targeted the reportedly openly gay man for his sexuality in Pompano Beach Florida.
At the time of the original attack, the gang of homophobes broke into the man’s home before having violently attacked him leaving him indefinitely blind.
