As the fight against China ‘s reported crackdown on press freedom rages on — there are some familiar Chinese faces that are otherwise prepared to face off against the mainland government. The mainland government has reportedly accused two top figures within the company, Â Ryan Law, the chief editor, and Cheung Kim-hung, the CEO of Next Digital, of flouting China ‘s newly minted and rather controversial national security law.
The law is widely seen as a defacto crackdown on press freedom. China ‘s full frontal assault on free access to information is unfolding before our eyes.
Beijing is still defending the controversial law as it is now understood there were at least 5 media arrests related to the popular company. Beijing maintains that tightening its grip on society is to the better fit of said society and for their internal security.
