A letter published this week has signaled an extraordinary ask of President Joe Biden. According to the letter, signed by more than 30 Democrats, House Dems are asking Biden to forfeit his sole authority to determine when; if, and how the United States launches a nuclear attack.
“As president, two of your most critical and solemn duties are the security of the country and the safeguarding of its nuclear arsenal,” the letter reads.
