One in six American workers have now lost their job due to the Coronavirus

As the unemployment crisis from the Coronavirus continues its rodeo through America, the Labor Department has released its weekly report on unemployment insurance numbers. According to that report, another 4.4m Americans applied for unemployment last week bringing the total to more than 25m Americans since mid-March who’ve applied for such benefits.

According to that same report, one-in-six American workers have lost their job. It is by far the most job losses ever recorded.

The Coronavirus crisis has now created the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression in the 1930 ‘s — when unemployment in the U.S reached a historic high of 25%.
