Big news in Nicki Minaj ‘s world today. The longstanding rape case against her brother Jelani Maraj has come to a close, and with that, comes news that Maraj will spend the rest of his life behind bars. On Monday, a Long Island judge convicted Maraj on all counts (of repeatedly raping his 11-year-old stepdaughter) and essentially sealed his fate forever.
Nassau County Supreme Court Judge Robert McDonald railroaded Maraj for sexually abusing the girl, saying that his “view is that you ruined this child”
“You raped this child. You raped her over and over again,” McDonald said.
During the sentencing, Maraj spoke pleading for mercy from the court.
“I’d like to apologize for the pain that I caused. I had an excessive drinking problem,” he said, adding that he’s “just asking for mercy from the court.”
