Looks like white people really still don’t get it. According to Variety, former Paramount Television head Amy Powell learned the hard way that casually dropping a racist comment in any format — is no longer the cool thing to do in the workplace.
Variety confirmed that Powell was fired from Paramount Television after she apparently made racist comments involving show-runners from First Wives Club. While Powell denies that she made such statements, African-American assistants to the shows’ biggest stars were the ones who actually made the complaints.
Details of the complaint weren’t immediately made public, but, Paramount Television confirmed in an e-mail Saturday morning that Powell had been let-go from her job.
