ST PETERSBURG – Trouble in Russia today as Russian officials are struggling to grapple with a Metro station attack that reportedly left upwards of 11 dead. According to authorities, all metro stations have been closed for the remainder of the day as the explosion is investigated.
It was a busy typical day for residents of St. Petersburg, on a train that normally carries two million people a day. Although witnesses say the train never made it through the tunnel before the self-made bomb exploded killing 11; injuring 40, and causing complete mayhem.
According to additional reports, Vladamir Putin was in St. Petersburg at the time of the blast.
