That wasn’t a trick headline unfortunately. Over the course of a few years, more than 9,000 women reportedly had their pelvic exams illegally filmed at a medical practice associated with John Hopkins University. According to settlement documents, each of the women will receive at least $20,000 out of the $190m settlement from the hospital system.
Each of the plaintiffs had reportedly been victimized by Dr. Nikita Levy over the span of several months. The Hospital System did not return requests for comment on the story.
