ARGENTINA — Bad news for Cristina Fernandez the former leader of Argentina. According to Express, Kerchner, has formally been charged with defrauding the country of Argentina during her tenure as the firebrand leader of the country. Officials confirmed that Kerchner was charged with defrauding Argentina and syphoning funds out of the public pursue, er, to the tune of more than $5.2b.
Federal judges opened their case against Kerchner arguing that the inflation of the Argentine peso was a “scheme in place by former President Cristina Fernandez”. The inflation, they argue, would have never been possible without the presidential power abused by Cristina during her reign over Argentina.
Fernandez, reportedly faces up to 20 years in Argentine prison.
