300 schoolchildren and 12 teachers abducted in Nigeria in latest crime against pupils in troubled country

ABUJA, NIGERIA — Tactical squads are once again out in force in Nigeria this weekend amid reports that more children in the region have been abducted. According to the Associated Press, some 300 pupils and at least 12 educators were all abducted this week on top of the already 25 missing pupils from the nearby Kebbi state of maga town.

The attack which targeted St Mary’s School in the area is located in the northern-central area of the country and is nestled in the state of Niger. An early tally of the attack had those missing at 215, however following investigative work by officials to determine the full extent of the abductions the tally was updated.
