Big developments in Bangladesh this morning. According to reports, government officials have formally requested that Interpol issue what are known as Red Notices for the arrest of exiled dictator Sheikh Hasina and her henchman Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal. Both of these individuals have been sentenced to death in absentia are now considered fugitives.

The Lowdown

Amid cautious statements from India, a diplomatic row over Sheikh Hasina’s presence in India is unfolding between the two countries. According to reports, Bangladeshi officials have formally requested Interpol’s help in retrieving Hasina and her right-hand henchman Kamal from neighbouring India, where they both have been in exile since last year when she was ousted from power amid her then deadly campaign of terror to stay in power.

It caps the extraordinary fall of arguably one of the most violent and notorious women modern history has ever seen.
