NYPD officials are investigating today following the grisly discovery of a young woman’s body that was stuffed into a garbage bag and then left on the side of the road in East Harlem like it was nothing.

The Lowdown

According to police, cops were called to 125th and Park Avenue last night shortly after 7pm. There they were guided by a witness who told cops that he discovered the body of a young woman stuffed into a black garbage bag and then placed into a green duffel bag. She was left on the side of the road like she never mattered underneath the Metro-North railway.

This is the third time in recent months that someone’s body has turned up in a garbage bin, bag, or related. Earlier this summer, remains were found near Jackie Robinson Parkway, earlier this month remains were found in a trash bin in Flatbush (they were totally dismembered), and now this.

According to police, the woman was believed to be in her 20s and white. Details about her beyond that point are unclear as medical examiners are still performing autopsies.
