Following the daring heist at the Louvre in Paris the museum ‘s director will remain on the job. According to reports, Laurence des Cars testified before France ‘s Senate earlier today admitting the grave missteps that led to the huge jewel heist believed to be valued at $102m.

Just days after a daring early morning heist at the Louvre museum in Paris new developments. According to the Associated Press, France ‘s government has rejected an effort by des Cars to resign following the historic theft. Thieves who broke in during the early morning hours managed to entirely slip past security and other before anyone noticed — first having entered the museum through the Apollo Gallery area. The AP notes that des Cars admitted during the hearing that only one camera was working at the time of the heist and it was pointed in the wrong direction.
