The Lowdown
The anti-Macron movement in France appears to be deepending. According to reports, French President Emmanuel Macron is now facing calls both externally and internally to call snap parliamentary elections or simply resign. To make matters worse for Mr. Macron his own allies have recently begun joining his opponents in demanding he fully act.
On Tuesday, those internal calls heightened. His first Prime Minister Edouard Phillipe was among those leading Tuesday’s calls for his resignation amid mounting tensions over France ‘s now long-running political troubles. France has notably been unable to pass a budget in government simply because nobody can agree on anything which has been the case for several months now. Macron has notably struggled to retain Prime Ministers during his career also over growing political tensions and regional failures.
Critic are calling France ‘s political troubles the worst bout of political chaos in France since the foundation of the Fifth Republican in 1958.
