Salvadoran national Kilmar Abrego Garcia is temporarily a free man. According to reports, on Friday, Garcia was formally released from jail pending his trial on human smuggling charges.

Abrego Garcia is once again back in the headlines. According to reports, Garcia was released from jail so he could return home to Maryland to be with his family. He will still have to stand trial on allegations that he engaged in human smuggling activities within the United States. Garcia was previously ‘mistakingly’ deported back in March setting off the diplomatic crisis that led to his detainment to begin with.
