Big news in the fight for freedom for all in Wisconsin. According to reports, the state’s highest court has ruled in favor of those seeking to ban conversion therapy. Conversion therapy is an unproven tactic is often used in a heartbreaking effort to ‘cure’ someone of their gay or queerness.

The Lowdown

High court ruling out of Wisconsin is making headlines today.  According to the ruling,  the road has been paved for conversion therapy to formally be banned in the state.  Conversion therapy is a form of abuse used by religious people to forcibly ‘change’ someone’s sexuality. It has been  banned in at least 23 states due to the severe consequences of such therapy.

In the same ruling, the court found that the Republican-controlled legislative committee ‘s sound rejection of a state agency rule to ban conversion therapy for LGBTQ+ individuals was actually unconstitutional.  The decision takes power away from the Republican legislature to block the enactment of rules by the governor’s office.
