TX Floods: Latest as search and rescues remain underway in devastating aftermath of biblical like floods

The monster floods that struck Texas are deadlier than thought. According to officials, the official death count in the disaster how now climbed to at least 80.   Search and rescue teams remain searching for anymore bodies or survivors.

The Lowdown

According to authorities in Texas, some 80 people have died in the deadly floods that struck parts of Texas over the weekend.  Of those 80 at least 29 were children all hailing from Kerr County, where at least 11 young girls and one counselor remain missing as of publication time.

Officials have warned people in the Hunt area to seek higher ground as soon as possible as more rain on the way according to weather reports in the region.  FEMA was also activated over the weekend after a disaster declaration from Donald Trump. According to the Texas Public Radio,  one of the area ‘s top Christian  summer camps Camp Mystic was badly destroyed in the floods with numerous dead and numerous still missing otherwise the death count by county is below according to authorities in the area.

The death toll is as follows:

  • 68 deaths in Kerr County
  • 5 deaths in Travis County
  • 3 deaths in Burnet County
  • 2 death in Kendall County
  • 1 death in Tom Green County
  • 1 death in Williamson County
