Trump: Deal to keep TikTok online ‘close’ but mystery still surrounds supposed U.S buyer

The long awaited deal to keep TikTok alive in the United States apparently is close at least according to Donald Trump. According to Trump, who revealed the news while aboard Air Force One, China is expected to briefed on the deal and its contents sometime this week.

The Lowdown

According to the New York Times,  an American deal to keep the Chinese app available in the United States looms.  Per the Times, Trump revealed on Friday night in claims aboard AFO that a deal was close on the matter but not quite finished yet.

Under a previously enacted law in 2024, TikTok hasw been ordered to sell it’s U.S stake to an American buyer or face an outright ban.  The move has been extended numerous times though the clock appears to be running out.
