A 9-year-old girl is dead this week after she was apparently left in her mother’s car in the middle of the heat in Texas. According to police, the 36-year-old woman left her daughter in Toyota Camry while she worked — with just a little water and the windows open.

The shocking and unfortunate trend of leaving children in hot-cars continues in the United States. According to ABC News, a Texas woman is facing an investigation after her 9-year-old daughter died in the sweltering heat after she was left in her Mom ‘s car while she went to work. ABC notes that the tragic incident occurred at a manufacturing plant in Galena Park which is near Houston.
The Mom who has not been identified went in for her shift at 6am that morning by 2pm that afternoon her daughter was deceased. In Texas alone, this is the third such death this week alone and the 13th such death this year in the United States.
She has been released from custody according to the case but charges may be pending depending on a decision from the Harris County DA.
