An Austrian newspaper called Kurier is finding itself in the headlines for all of the wrong reasons. According to reports, one of its U.S based reporters has been caught fabricating entire interviews with A-List celebrities.
The Lowdown
In the bizarre world of media you can do allot of things but making up interviews isn’t one of those things. According to reports, a Hollywood based reporter for Kurier is out of a job today after it was unearthed that she faked an interview with Hollywood legend Clint Eastwood who recently turned 95.
The bizarre interview quickly went viral A) because it is Clint Eastwood and B) because in the supposed interview Eastwood is quoted as railing against remakes and the like in Tinsel Town. Perhaps the only problem is that none of the quotes were actually for said interview as it didn’t happen and they were pulled from various roundtables that Eastwood had done in the past.
In a statement to Deadline, Eastwood himself confirmed the interview was fake while also making a light hearted comment about turning 95 years old.
Meanwhile, Kurier has on its part parted ways with the journalist who claimed to have conducted the interviews. In case it couldn’t get any worse it does. Some reports suggest the same reporter may have also fabricated an interview with Jude Law.
