Bebsie Cronje of Newcastle has come out with the truth about the white crosses that have appeared in the town of Newcastle. Despite claims by U.S President Donald Trump, the crosses do not have anything to do with genocide.

According to Reuters, a town official who represents the town of Newcastle has come against claims by Trump that South Africa is suffering from so-called white genocide. The claims first originated from Donald Trump who in recent weeks has attempted to paint white people in South Africa as victims of a government sponsored genocide campaign.
Cronje told the outlet that she felt sad that the situation was being politicized for gain. Turns out as noted by Cronje, the white crosses are actually part of a burial tribute for a white farming couple that had been murdered in the area.
“The crosses was not a display of how many farm murders (took place) or whatever. It was just a total tribute to the Raffertys,” she said. “I feel it’s very sad that something like this is being used politically.”
