Soon after Donald Trump took office many of his first actions were to fire those he deemed his administration. In the case of the first two women he tried to fire — the Supreme Court at least for now has ruled in his favor.
The Lowdown
According to CBS News, Chief Justice John Roberts ruled in favor of Trump on Wednesday in the case(s) of Cathy Harris from the Merit Systems Protection Board and Gwynne Wilcox from the National Labor Relations Board.
Trump after he took office quickly moved to fire the two women from their posts, however, ran into a problem after it was discovered their terms weren’t up yet.
The pair filed suit claiming they were wrongfully terminated from their posts resulting in a lower court ruling ordering them rehired (which was later paused by Roberts’ administrative stay on Wednesday.)
