The Lowdown

Mohammed Bahi who fell from grace as a once top aide to Adams just delivered a big blow to the embattled mayor. According to the case, he has pleaded guilty to a single conspiracy to defraud the government charge. That charge stems from the time period in which Eric Adams and company were accused of flouting campaign finance laws in New York.

Some say Adams who has denied any wrongdoing may soon be in big trouble. Some reports suggest that Bahi may be preparing to turn on the Mayor by cooperating with federal authorities. Apart from this case, Bahi also has a series of cases dating back to last October on allegations that he obstructed the work of federal agents.
