The Lowdown
Visitors to the Louvre may have noticed renovation signs as of late. According to an announcement by Macron, UK visitors first off be charged more than European visitors to visit the museum. The new rule also applies to anyone outside of the European Union not just the United Kingdom. The renovations also include a big move for the Mona Lisa which will soon sit in its own underground room in the museum further protecting the legendary piece of art.
In the same announcement, Macron revealed that a new entrance is also being built near the River Seine which is scheduled to open sometime around 2031.
