Top aide to Eric Adams has surrendered on bribery charges in latest blow for NYC ‘s troubled mayor

Big trouble for top Adams’ aide Ingrid Lewis-Martin. According to reports, Lewis-Martin isexpected to surrender today to authorities on bribery charges. The charges stem from accusations that she accepted a bribe from two businessmen but also her son was involved.

The Lowdown

According to the New York Post, Lewis-Martin is the latest figure in Adams’ orbit to either be investigated or charged. The accusations against her unlike others involve her son and an alleged $100,000 loan from two businessmen to buy him a Porsche car.

The Post notes that those involved are Glenn Martin II and one of the businessmen, hotelier Mayank Dwivedi. Sources told the outlet that some expect prosecutors to put forth an effort to get Lewis-Martin to flip on Adams.
