America’s largest private employer is the latest company to cave to right wing pressure to do away with anything that supports inclusion efforts.
The Lowdown
According to the company, the company is ending racial equity training for employees but that’s only the beginning. In the same announcement, Walmart confirmed that it will also pull back and review all funding for ‘Pride’ related events. Surprisingly, the company also announced that it is ending its Center for Racial Equity, a $100m effort to fight racial injustices experienced by African Americans across society.
Right-wing pressure against inclusion programs of any kind in the United States have grown in recent months spurned by misinformation.
