Twenty people returning to the U.S from Cuba have tested positive for the Sloth fever — here’s what to know

Although officials say there’s no sign of mass spreading at this time. According to reports, federal officials are monitoring at least twenty people who have recently tested positive for the Sloth fever after returning from Cuba.

The Lowdown

According to a Google search, the formal name for the virus is  Oropouche and it is native to tropical areas. Symptoms include fever; headaches, muscle aches, and related. Doctors have been advised to be on the lookout for symptoms and for travelers returning from Cuba and South America.

The CDC has recommended that pregnant women avoid travel to the area and related. This virus does not currently have a treatment regimen or a vaccine.
