Telegram which is essentially another version of Whatsapp is in the news as of late over a series of claims involving content moderation and how the app is used. Over the weekend, its founder Pavel Durov was arrested after touching down in the French capital.

Pavel Durov the Russian born founder of Telegram is in French custody. According to the case, Durov is the subject of an ‘independent investigation’ rather than ‘politicial motivations’ per French President Emmanuel Macron who clarified the situation says NBC News.
