Japan PM to step down following months worth of scandals

Fumio Kishida the Prime Minister of Japan is stepping down. According to reports, scandal after scandal proved to be too much in a country accustomed to public trust.

The Lowdown

“Politics cannot function without public trust,” Kishida said Wednesday.

“I will now focus on supporting the newly elected LDP leader as a rank-and-file member of the party,” he said.
