CrowdStrike is at the centre of discussions around the world after yesterday revealed just how much the world depends on a small number of companies.
CrowdStrike is a cybersecurity firm based in Austin Texas that provides cyber security services to a wide-range of customers. What was intended to protect companies from outages and disruptions accidentally did the opposite bringing down everything from airports to newspapers and things in between.
The company according to its website claims to service more than 530 of the 1,000 companies on the Fortune 1000 list.
According to the company, when said software went to go push an update to one of its Falcon Sensors the programme malfunctioned causing Windows computers to go down.
As of this writing, some systems have been restored across the world while others continue to wrangle through the mess to get back online.
