Facing already high prospects of a blistering defeat, the conservatives and Prime Minister Rishi Sunak are staring down the barrel of a scandal. According to reports, a betting scandal has erupted following claims that certain members of his cabinet — may have been up to no good.

Politico Europe reports that members of his cabinet have fallen under investigation following credible claims that somebody was betting on the date of the election before it was announced. The news has angered Sunak who is faring incredibly bad in the polls ahead of next month’s snap election. Tony Lee director of campaigning reportedly took a leave of absence following news of the investigation.
