A popular painkiller available in Europe is facing scrutiny. According to reports, EU ‘s drugs watchdog has launched an investigation into the drug following numerous reported deaths linked to it.

According to The Guardian, the watchdog announced on Friday that it launched an investigation into the medication metamizole, which can lead to agranulocytosis. The Cleveland Clinic notes that the condition agranulocytosis in other terms is a very serious condition that comes about when a person’s white blood cells fall dangerously low.
