In yet another dizzying sign for conservatives, Rishi Sunak has called the surprise announcement that an election is coming. According to Downing Street, elections are set to take place 4 July.

According to Downing Street, an election has formally been called to determine the next government amid conservatives facing a defeat. The election which is expected to lean in Labour’s favour marks the expected end of conservative rule after 14 years.
