A big change is coming to New York City ‘s subway system. According to reports, Eric Adams has announced that AI-enabled gun detection software is coming to the subway system in an effort to deter an unsettling rise in underground crime.

According to The Guardian, New York City is set to roll out a pilot program featuring AI-enabled gun detection software that will help allow authorities to further keep weapons off of the subway. The move won’t happen until ninety days from Thursday due to a legally mandated waiting period though consultations for companies are underway.
