Ceasefire agreement passes first of many hurdles in Israeli-Hamas war as Paris talks conclude

A potential ceasefire in the ongoing war may soon become reality. According to reports, an outline of an agreement was reached during Paris talks over the weekend with several intelligence chiefs.

The Lowdown

“There were good talks, there’s significant progress,” an official told Israel’s Channel 12. “We have a basis on which to build a plan and the negotiations.”

Channel 12 also reports that Israel’s war cabinet is expected to view the agreement on Saturday and if approved further talks would happen before presenting it to Hamas.

The Times of Israel notes that the agreement also lays out how and where Israel would be allowed to operate during the ceasefire truce.
