Shamima Begum who famously at the age of 15 fled the UK for ISIS breeding grounds has learned her fate. According to reports, Begum has indefinitely been barred from regaining her citizenship after having it infamously stripped from her following her case gaining international attention a few years ago. Begum along with a few of her friends left the UK as teenagers and ended up as infamous ISIS brides in and around the Syria area and remain stateless as of this year.
Reports indicate that Begum remains stateless in a Syrian refugee camp pending any potential further appeals to her case. Ultimately, a court ruling found that Begum was likely recruited for purposes of sexual exploitation but that simply wasn’t enough to overturn the previous lawful decision made by the Home Office.
