Thanks to a birdbrained Netflix employee the public now knows how Netflix plans to combat password sharing even though the announcement wasn’t supposed to have been made public. According to an accidentally shared online memo, Netflix plans to roll out the steps likely within weeks.

  1. Users may be required to verify their accounts every 31 days by logging into or from their home wifi.
  2. Devices which log in to the account away from the Netflix Household and have not done so in the past month ‘may be blocked from watching Netflix’.
  3. If you go travelling, you can request a four digit password to be sent to the bill payer, and when that is entered you will be able to continue watching.

These are only some of the new actions the streamer intends to take to crackdown on password sharing.
