Amazon is set to be the owner of the Roomba in the coming weeks. According to reports published Friday, Amazon has announced that it is buying iRobot in a $1.7b deal pending approval from regulators. This is the latest move by the company to further move into consumer homes operating more products in-home than ever before.

Amazon previously introduced its own super odd robotic like cleaner last year called Astro. The robot which oddly looks like a dog depending on who you ask runs about $999 on Amazon.
