According to a proposal made to officials in Texas, the board of education is set to review that proposal which includes the request to have school books and items updated to read the new definition. The Texas Tribune reports that a group of about 9 educators made the request to the board of education which is widely expected to approve the change. The once in a decade change comes a year after the state passed a law requiring that topics that made students supposedly uncomfortable remain off limits in schools.
