Heaven ‘s Gates which was a cult in the 1990 ‘s in America is getting the TV treatment. In a new exclusive 20/20 documentary with Diane Sawyer, two surviving members of the infamous alien-ish cult are telling their shocking stories for the first time.
According to what we could find doing a history check on this cult, they apparently believed that they could shed their human form and instead be transported to the next “life” by an alien spaceship. The mass suicide at the orders of the cult reportedly took place in 1999 and is largely considered the worst mass suicide ever to occur in America. In a nutshell, they were a group that pretty much questioned whether or not we being lied to about what and who humans really are (we just put it in less psycho sci-fi-ish terms.)
The truly bizarre story will air on 20/20 and then air on Hulu on 11 March it is called The Cult Next Door: The Mystery and Madness of Heaven’s Gate.
