Liberal Dem Helen Morgan has done it. For the first time in 200 years almost, the seat in North Shropshire by-election England usually held by a conservative will now be held by a lib Democrat. Morgan’s stunning defeat in the are as a wide-ranging challenge to Johnson ‘s party which has suffered significant controversy politically along with surging COVID cases.
This comes against the backdrop of Johnson ‘s own struggles politically. In recent weeks, it has emerged that Johnson appears to have been abusing his seat of power; ignoring his own lockdown rules, and even safeguarding the actions of an alleged illegal lobbyist. Interestingly, Johnson is also now facing questions over reports that he illegally attended Christmas parties last year while common folks were required to remain in their homes during lockdown.
