Spectacular news in the wildlife today. According to Chinese researchers and conservationists, there are now more than 1,800 giant pandas living in the wild throughout modern China. The conservation efforts first began more than 30 years ago when there were only a few hundred of these adorable creatures left.

Stats show that in the past decade alone their population has grown by more than 20 percent and it is expected to continue to grow.

The Panda is a national symbol in places like China where the critter is beloved by most residents.
