Popular actress Lisa Banes has passed away. According to US reports, Banes best known for films like Gone Girls and being a staple on the New York stage — succumbed to severe injuries from the reported hit and run. Officials say the hit and run occurred on the west side of Manhattan. And May have involved some form of an electric scooter or bicycle though that is not clear at this time.
Electric scooters and buckles are legal in New York City as an alternative method of transportation in a city dominated by ruthless drivers. Police are still reportedly asking for information or people to come forward who may have information.
Banes’ death has sparked new calls for New York to crack down on their use. Some are calling for an outright ban — but that is unlikely considering New York just recently made them allowed. New York City has never really criminalized them regardless.
