The AP has confirmed that hip hop legend DMX has died at the age of 50. According to the AP, Earl Simmons passed away after a battle with a drug addiction and having fatally OD’ed last week. DMX was originally one of the hip hop pioneers that helped bring hip hop to the forefront of mainstream culture.
DMX was perhaps best known for his hits like “Ruff Ryders’ Anthem,” “Get At Me Dog,” “Stop Being Greedy,” and “How It’s Goin’ Down.”
DMX had remained in a vegetative state following his accidental overdose. He is survived by his 15 children and his mother.
