Troubling news this weekend in New York City as police are grappling with yet again even more crime. Just hours after it was revealed that police expected New Years violence to take flight over the weekend, now, they’re reportedly investigating the death of a woman found in an apartment building trash chute.
The discovery of the body at the complex on Victory Boulevard stunned local residents and onlookers. Police and fire department officials apparently made the discovery after gossip took hold in the building and a neighbor finally made the discovery themselves after hearing about it. The woman has been identified as  Lisa Maria Hernandez.
The New York Daily News reports that the circumstances surrounding her death still remain unclear although an investigation is underway.
