It’s final curtain for what as been the shit-show of the U.S election that otherwise has led to some of the nastiest political actions most have ever seen. Despite Donald Trump ‘s draconian efforts to overturn the election, it appears that by all accounts Joe Biden has won the required number of certified electoral votes to assume power.
The next phase will be a joint session of Congress on 6 January, whereas, the votes will be counted definitively with Mike Pence presiding.
The AP reports that there doesn’t appear to be any objections to the certification process all but ensuring that Trump has been defeated out office. There in fact wasn’t a single objection even in Republican led states.
